Objectives: Mcginnis excels in tethering to objectives and peeling for teamfights. Use her abilities to stall out pushes, stabilize map state and empower team fights. McGinnis cannot typically excel without her teammates drawing attention away from her first. Because of this, her capability to break objectives or escape relies on high reactivity to map pressure. Time your pushes around map pressure, and avoid risky plays!
Abilities: Each ability in her kit is a tool. Turrets can force enemies to waste their clip, or apply slow during a chase. Medicinal Specter can be used to dig her heels into a zone, or empower a push forward. Spectral Wall can be used to trap enemies in, or lock enemies out. She can build items into many different tempos, but generally she is strongest when stalling out map pressure using every ability in her arsenal.
Positioning: McGinnis does not want to be the first person enemies look at. This applies both to splitpushing and to teamfighting. Watch the minimap and your teammates, looking for windows of distraction to act within! Hover the outskirts of teamfights and provide suppressive aid. Make fast and decisive splitpushes, keeping the map broadly pressured from all sides. Be where you're needed, not where you're curious.
